{{first_name}},

Before you think I'm stupid, here me out.

A year ago I was desperate to make money online.

I was outreaching like rent was due tomorrow.

One day, I found this creator with 125k followers.

Big audience but behind the curtain everything was lacking:

Shitty landing page.

Weak funnel.

Inappropriate persuasion.

Clearly, he didn't have a copywriter.

So I shot my arrow into his DMs.

After building rapport,

I sent him a loom video about his current marketing funnel and how I can improve it.

He declined my offer.

I got used to rejection so there was no reaction.

Yet I kept following up every week just like my other prospects.

Hoping, I'll close him one day.

But got rejected every time like knocking on a door that was never meant to open.

2 months ago, I followed up again.

This time he said YES.

I remember staring at the screen with my mind saying…

“Finally, you did it.”

I was already spending the money in my head.

Helping my single mom.

Lifting pressure off her shoulders.

Finally feeling… useful.

Until reality slapped me. (I'll tell you in a minute)

At the time of agreement,

I was getting hired as a content specialist.

Basically, managing his short form, emails, landing pages, WhatsApp marketing etc.

Can I ask you a simple question {{first_name}}?

According to 2 years experience and for the amount of work…

…What would be a fair offer?

$2000? $1000? $500?

$50/mo it is.

Yes fellas, I was offered a labour prize.

To finish it off with a cherry on top the agreement had 15 unfair statements against me.

The worst of them was…

“The employee must work whenever the boss needs him.”

He didn’t want a growth partner.

He wanted obedience.

So I said No.

And walked away.

I gave my effort to someone who would never trust me with growth.

The truth is…

Effort only works when it's been given to the right people.

P.S. Did I do the right thing?

What would you have done?
