Let me tell you a really quick story {{first_name}},
(So that you remember the lesson for the rest of your life)
A young boy wanted to learn how to catch fish.
So every morning he sat quietly on the dock listening to the old fishermen talk.
About how he uses the bait.
The best place to catch big fish.
The best fishing rods.
The boy listened carefully for weeks.
One morning, the old fisherman handed him a rod.
Let's see what you have learned, he said.
The boy tried.
But his bait fell off.
The old fisherman smiled.
“Good,” he said.
“Now you’re finally learning, boy.”
Because fishing isn’t learned by hearing stories about the water.
It's learned by ACTUALLY fishing.
The same goes for learning anything online.
But today we have normalised passive learning.
Watching YouTube. Saving videos. Consuming endless information.
Studies show we forget %50 of what we learn if we never take action.
Here's what I do and greats do…
If you want to learn something fast…
Do the thing.
It’s okay to watch a tutorial to understand the basics.
But real learning begins when you try it yourself.
Because when you start doing the thing, you'll face problems.
You search for answers.
You fix the mistake.
You try again.
Problem → Research → Fix → Repeat.
That's how you don't lose your focus on things you have never done before
And if you are learning online…
…Thousands of creators are fighting for your attention.
(Most of them don't give real value ngl)
So next time when you try to learn something ask yourself:
“Am I ACTUALLY fishing?”
Hope it helps,
Your fishing guru,
Zaid.
